Description

Hananigana(Ixeris dentata var. albiflora f. amplifolia) is a perennial plant of the genus Ixeris in the family Asteraceae.This is a race of Shirobananigana(Ixeris dentata var. albiflora), that is a variety of Nigana(Ixeris dentata).

Derivation

Japanese name Hananigana(Flowering Bitter Green) derives from similar to Nigana(Bitter Green), whose sap is bitter, and having more florets(meaning "small flowers") than Nigana.

Flowers

The flower season is from May to July. It blooms a flower which is about 2cm and consists of about 7-11 yellow ray flowers. And it is bigger than Nigana.

Leaves and Stems

Stems are between 40cm to 70cm. Upper stem ramify into several stems having flowers. It is higher than Nigana.

Ecology

The habitat is the brae and the grass which catch the sun.
